FREE Community Art Activity for newcomers to Calgary - Dark Sky Country

  • Canopy Studios 1723 9th St SW Calgary Canada (map)

Calling newcomers to Calgary! Participate in a FREE creative workshop and have your artwork displayed in a local art show in November, 2023 called Dark Sky Country.

What does Alberta mean to you? What images come to mind? We may have different
interpretations according to how long we have lived here and our unique experiences.

Join us at Canopy Studios on October 14, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm for a fun activity that will show your creative interpretation of 'What Alberta means to you.' On a format of 4 inches by 4 inches, using any medium (paint, textiles, ink, print, charcoal, collage etc.) you are invited to participate in a collective art installation.

Your work will stay at Canopy Studios and be displayed as part of local artist Deborah Millward's art exhibit entitled ‘Alberta, Dark Sky Country' throughout the month of November, 2023. Artwork created will be for sale with proceeds going towards fundraising for refugee support in Alberta.

FREE, ages 12 and up - no previous art experience necessary.

Free ticket via eventbrite required for registration - workshop space limited
